New paintings while self-isolating and social distancing.

After doing a major clean out of the house (thanks to Covid19) it was back to painting. Here are some small flower paintings that I started with.

Also some rock paintings – my favourite subject to paint.

And finally some landscapes – always a challenge for me.

A new landscape painting.

I don’t usually do landscapes as I find them intimidating, but I had this tall skinny canvas that seemed to need a tall landscape painting on it. So I found one of my favourite photos from Sunshine Meadows in Banff National Park and painted this lone larch tree. I titled it “Reaching for the Sunshine”. It is an acrylic on stretched canvas with a black floater frame. I plan to put it up for sale in the Spring Bow West Art Sale, April 18, 2020.

REACHING FOR THE SUNSHINE

Farley the Canuck Pup from Start to Finish

I painted this for our daughter who LOVES our Golden Retriever Farley and enjoys dressing him up. Our daughter is an adult but sometimes they never grow up (this refers to our dog too). Just for fun I thought I would show the steps that led up to the finished painting (see the bottom photo).
